Under the Hood: 2007 Ford Five Hundred 3.0L

Our featured Under the Hood candidate is a 2007 Ford Five Hundred. The Five Hundred uses a 6 cylinder engine and is a front wheel drive car, so the general layout of the engine components will be similar to most other 6 cylinder, FWD vehicles.

  5. I have some experience with the PCV valve. It is behind the engine, deep down next to the firewall. It is under 14 - engine manifold. You will need to disassemble that back part of the engine and have a strong wrist as it isn't easy to access. I broke the connector for the valve and struggled for a long time and ended up just taking it to a mechanic who had a much stronger grip and patience than me.

  7. Replaced spark plugs and everything that means... Next to firewall running parallel to the intake manifold is a female plug w/green tracers. Do you know what this plugs into.

  9. How do I manually shift gear into park under the hood. Car stuck in drive can’t get key out of ignition and it won’t start back up but I have power.
